Alex's Legacy Alex Michael Anderson was born on June 30th, 2006 at 12:38 pm, after 14 hours of labor and being induced, which resulted in a Cesarean Section. The minute I heard Alex's cry I felt a sigh of relief, joy overcame me and there was an instant bond. Our handsome little guy had finally arrived, and we couldn't have been happier. My husband, Alex, and I stayed in the hospital until Monday July 3rd. Our first few weeks home were stressful as with any first time parents; we were both very nervous but so excited and anxious to watch our little man grow. Alex's days were filled with wonderous amazement as he stared at the new world that surrounded him. He was such a happy boy always smiling, happy...innocent. Our pride and joy. My husband and I watched as pride and enjoyment overcame us when Alex learned to hold his head up, played with his 3-in-1 gym, rolled over, and babbled all under his 1st month. He was such a smart little guy. He had problems with congestion since birth but that never stopped him from smiling, and staring at his surroundings with his eyes full of glee. He was such a curious child, and an awesome baby. He hardly ever cried. Only when he was hungry, or his diaper needed changing. He loved to lay with daddy before bed. That was their "special time." His daddy would hold him or prop him up next to him and they would watch the game together. He was taken from us unexpectantly on August 9th, 2006 from SIDS. The day Alex was taken we lost part of our heart and soul-lost part of the sense of serenity and comfort we shared as a family was shattered. That's not all, Alex left behind a legacy. His smile, his unique personality, his full of life spirit all still linger on in our memories, and in all that we do. He will always be remembered, loved, and missed. He will forever remain "Our Little Man." |
